Intraperitoneal hydatid cyst.

چکیده
A 41-year-old patient, who was treated surgically as a child for a hydatid cyst of the liver, was admitted to the Psychiatric Department at our hospital after a psychiatric episode. Our Surgery Department was called in as the patient complained of abdominal pain and a mass was palpated in the hypogastrium (the remainder of the examination showed no alterations). Abdominal CT scan detected a voluminous intra-abdominal hydatid cyst located in the subumbilical region that was compressing and displacing the bladder, measuring 14 10 16 cm, with multiple daughter cysts (Figs. 1 and 2). Midline laparotomy revealed an intraperitoneal hydatid cyst that did not infiltrate adjacent structures. Total cystopericystectomy was performed (Fig. 3). The patient was discharged on the third day post-op. c i r e s p . 2 0 1 4 ; 9 2 ( 1 0 ) : e 6 3

متن کاملBiliary peritonitis due to “fallen” hydatid cyst after abdominal trauma
Hepatic hydatid cysts may cause serious complications. Intraperitoneal rupture of hepatic hydatid cyst is rarely seen and the prognosis can be fatal. By experience, we know that it might be difficult to diagnose an unruptured cyst expulsed into the peritoneal cavity. In this report, we present the case of a 54-year-old man with an intraperitoneal cystic mass of 10 cm of diameter which had extru...
